About GoFundMen
Built on the principle that every person deserves due process and a fair chance to tell their story.
Our Mission
GoFundMen exists because the court of public opinion often renders its verdict long before a courtroom does. When a man is falsely accused, wrongfully terminated, or publicly defamed, the financial and reputational damage can be devastating — and it happens fast.
We provide a platform where men can share their side of the story, raise funds for their legal defense, and find community support from people who believe in fairness, due process, and the presumption of innocence.
Why This Platform Exists
Existing crowdfunding platforms are general-purpose. GoFundMen is purpose-built for men facing:
- False accusations that damage careers, relationships, and reputations
- Defamation by media outlets, social media, or public figures
- Unjust legal battles with no financial support system
- Wrongful termination by employers responding to public pressure
- Child custody disputes where fathers are systematically disadvantaged
- Institutional failures and bureaucratic injustice
What Types of Cases Qualify
We review every campaign before it goes live. Campaigns that qualify are those where the individual:
- Has been formally accused or charged and disputes the allegations
- Has suffered documented reputational or financial harm from false claims
- Needs funds for legal representation, living expenses, or rehabilitation
- Can provide supporting documentation or context for their situation
We do not accept campaigns that promote violence, target individuals, or make claims that could themselves constitute harassment or defamation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Every campaign is manually reviewed by our team within 24–48 hours. We check for factual consistency, policy compliance, and ensure the campaign meets our content standards. Campaigns found to contain provably false information or that violate our terms are rejected.
GoFundMen is specifically focused on men facing the issues described above. This focus allows us to serve that community with specialized resources and a targeted audience. Other general crowdfunding platforms serve broader demographics.
Donations are processed securely through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. GoFundMen takes a small platform fee to cover operating costs. Campaign creators receive funds directly to their bank account.
If your campaign is rejected, you'll receive an email explaining why. Common reasons include insufficient information, policy violations, or a situation that doesn't fit our guidelines. You may be able to revise and resubmit.
Currently, campaign creators must provide their real name and contact information for verification purposes. However, your email address is never publicly displayed. Donors can choose to donate anonymously.
Campaigns run indefinitely until you close them, they're fully funded, or they're closed for policy reasons. You can post updates to keep supporters informed and engaged throughout your case.
GoFundMen charges a 5% platform fee on donations received. Stripe's standard payment processing fee (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) also applies. These fees cover platform operation, campaign review, and ongoing development.
No. GoFundMen is not affiliated with any political party or ideology. We are solely focused on due process, the presumption of innocence, and equal access to fundraising support. We serve men of all backgrounds, beliefs, and political affiliations.
